Introduction of Department:

Department of Medicine KTH was established in 2005, attached to PMC and has progressed since then. It provides medical care to patients with acute and chronic medical problems. We have a very busy out patient department which provides care to 60 to 70 patients a day and we have 24 hours emergency service in emergency room. Facilities for workup of patients are available in the form of Radiology, and laboratory are fully equipped to provide all relevant investigations with an excellent Hematological support by a very experienced Professor of Hematology. Indoor facilities are also available with 48 beds, for male and female, and a 5 bedded ICU, with dialysis and plasmapheresis machines. Experienced nurses and paramedics’ staff are also available. The unit is recognized by PMDC and CPSP for house job and FCPS part 2 training. The unit is supervised by a professor of Medicine Associate Professor and Two Assistant Professors a part from TMO’s and HO’s. The unit is providing care for acute medical emergencies and investigation of chronic medical problems.

   Department of medicine is taking care of patients presenting with acute and chronic medical problems. Also provides opportunity to under-graduate students of PMC to train in field of medicine. It also provides training for fulfilling requirements for FCPS part 2.The unit provides an excellent opportunity to both under graduate and post graduate students to enhance their experience and knowledge.
The faculty is striving hard to improve facilities for patient care and student’s training/teaching.
