Introduction of Department:

   Department of Gynae/obstetrics KTH was established in 2005 attached to PMC and has progressed since then. It provides Gynae/obstetrics care to patients with acute and chronic Gynecological problems. We have a very busy out patient department which provides care to 50 to 60 patients a day and we have 24 hours emergency service in emergency room. Facilities for workup of patients are available in the form of Radiology, and laboratory are fully equipped to provide all relevant investigations with an excellent Hematological support by a very experienced Professor of Hematology. Pharmacy facilities are available. Indoor facilities are also available with 40 beds, for female patients, and 4 bedded labour room for 24 hours emergency operation theatre. Experienced nurses and paramedics’ staff are also available. The unit is recognized by PMDC for House job. The unit is supervised by a professor of Gynae/obstetrics Associate Professor and Two Assistant Professors a junior registrar MO’s and HO’s. The unit is providing care for acute/chronic problems, as well as conservative management and operative emergencies.

Message from the Head of Department:

   Department of Gynae/obstetrics is taking care of patients presenting with acute and chronic Gynae/obstetrics problems. The unit is shortly going to be recognized for the DGO, MCPS and FCPS part 2 training. It also provides training for fulfilling requirements for FCPS part 2.The faculty is striving hard to improve facilities for patients care and students training/teaching.
